【摘要】:Metallisedwindscreensareproducedbysprayingsmallmetalparticlesononeoftheglassorplasticlayersofthevehicle’swindscreen.Thisleadstoawindscreenwithhighthermalqualities,rangingfromfar-reducedpowerconsumptionbyair-conditioningequipmenttoshorttimesforde-icing.TheproductionofcertainvehiclesinEuropewhichwereequippedwithmetallisedwindscreenshascreatedamajorproblemfortheinstallationandoperationofOn-BoardUnits(OBUs)whichrelyonDedicatedShort-RangeCommunications(DSRC)forITS(asthemost-widelydeployedDSRCITSapplicationtodate,theremainderofthisreportwillrefertoElectronicTollCollection(EFC)butthedevelopedsolutionswillbevalidforallDSRCITSapplications).AsisshowninTable1,windscreenpropertieshaveadecisiveinfluenceonthetransmissionofmicrowavecommunicationand,formetallisedwindows,itisessentialtocompensatetheselossesbyspecialmeasures(Ref1).AscarsequippedwithmetallisedwindowsarebeingshippedinlargenumberssinceJuly1997,thisproblemneedstobeaddressed.Itisimportanttonotethatthesolutionproposedisvalidforpassengercarsandnotforvehicleswithnear-toverticalwindscreenssuchastrucksandbuses.
